Rain Tree's 5nd digital single "Toiwa" to be released on 28/2 (Wed) has its cover photo revealed!

Rain Tree is a new girl group with 17 members produced by Yasushi Akimoto. The cover photo of their second digital single "Tsutsumi ni" (To be released by King Records on Wednesday, May 2025, 5) has been released. The seven main members are surrounded by blooming flowers and dressed in green outfits. They look beautiful, cute and delicate, like fairies living in the depths of the forest. What on earth are their eyes saying?

The main song of the 2nd digital single, "Totemina", is a love song that sings of strong feelings of love while empathizing with those who have been hurt, set to a pop tune. "Totemina" will be sung by seven members newly selected through the selection system: Hinata Asamiya, Kotori Ayase, Rino Endo, Rika Sato, Mio Suzuno, Fuuka Niino, and Umi Yoshikawa, and the coupling song will be sung by the other 7 members.

I thought the overall jacket photo was really cute, like they were all dolls. They took photos with all kinds of poses and expressions, so I hope that someday I'll be able to see the unreleased cuts somewhere. For the individual photos, each member had a different flower prepared, and they held those flowers when they took the photo, so I'm curious to see the flowers that each member had and what those flowers mean! Overall, it was so cute, beautiful, and wonderful that I was happy!

Two different costume designs were made, both of which are refreshing and cute! I was really happy to see rain and trees printed on the fabric. The bottoms have handkerchief hems, which I love as they look really pretty when you turn them around. Each member chose their own accessories. There are two types of matching bracelets! As for the jackets, everyone has an ennui-like expression, which I thought gave them a cute and fleeting look. There are flowers printed on the costumes, so I was happy to be able to take photos with them! I love how the font for "tsumari" (meaning "to mean") is so beautiful!

Each member had a different ribbon on their chest and sleeves, and the skirts actually had pictures of rain and trees that represented Rain Tree, so the design was really cute and I was surprised when I first saw it! I love how cute the open sleeves and the fluffy feel of the skirts when they turned around! During the shoot, each of us held flowers of a different color, we all held hands and took photos together. It was our first time having a jacket photo shoot, so I was nervous, but it was fun! After the shoot, the staff gave us the flowers we used, which made me really happy!

Profile

The IDOL2023 PROJECT audition, created by Yasushi Akimoto, began in April 4 and has been running for about half a year. 3.0 candidates were selected from about 1 applicants through various screening processes and were unveiled on August 114th, and the audition Final Stage, including the training camp screening, began. In Final Stage: 8st, 5 candidates were narrowed down to 1, and in Final Stage: 114nd, 45 were narrowed down to 2. Voting (total number of votes: 45) was held by NIDT IEO applicants for those 29 candidates from September 29th to 9th. After that, 24 of the finalists became talents affiliated with Overs Co., Ltd. They were active as "FINALIST" for about a year, but from October 30th, one year after being rejected, they will officially become a group called "Rain Tree" and will be active.

■ Origin of Rain Tree
When it rains, the rain tree closes its leaves. It endures the rain with its leaves closed, and opens its leaves when the sun comes up. The droplets that collect on the leaves overflow onto the ground, giving the tree and the life that gathers beneath it the strength to live.
