PSYCHIC FEVER appeared at SXSW 3, one of the world's largest fusion business conferences and festivals, held in Austin, Texas, USA from March 7th to 15th.
SXSW, which began as a music festival in 1987, has now become a huge, multifaceted event that includes conferences where leaders from various industries take the stage, exhibitions that bring together innovative ideas, and a film festival that has attracted attention for producing Academy Award-winning works. It is a truly one-of-a-kind event that brings together creative people from all over the world, including music and video creators, developers of cutting-edge technology, and entrepreneurs who create innovative services, and is attracting attention as a place where innovative business ideas and products are announced and the next hit trend is born.
During SXSW, Austin, Texas was in a festive mood, with SXSW-related events held all over the city, and the city was bustling from morning until night. Among them, the Paramount Theater in the center of the city closed off the roads to hold a red carpet for the Film & TV category, where the young and popular actor Jenna Ortega and Robert Downey Jr., famous for being an Avengers actor, made an appearance.
The Austin Convention Center, the venue for the SXSW EXPO, an exhibition of cutting-edge technology in various fields, was lined with exhibits of cutting-edge technologies such as AI and VR, creating a space where visitors could get a sneak peek at the world of the future.
At the conference, where prominent figures from various fields gave lectures, Michelle Obama took to the stage and held a talk session about business. From Japan, game creator Hideo Kojima took to the stage and announced the release of a new game that he was involved in producing as director. It was a truly fitting gathering of people for the world's largest multi-faceted business conference.
PSYCHIC FEVER performed at the SXSW Music Festival, which is held every March in the United States. In the past, Norah Jones, Ed Sheeran, Billie Eilish and others have performed there, and are known for becoming world-famous artists. PSYCHIC FEVER performed at the GREATER TEAM DAY STAGE on March 3th (local time). In addition, on March 3th (local time), they also appeared as headliners at the official showcase "Friends From The East Showcase" project held at the same event.
Each year, the SXSW Music Festival advances the careers of new, developing and established artists by showcasing their talents to the global music industry. The showcase is curated by South By Southwest® in partnership with record labels, booking agencies, management PR firms, overseas export offices, music festivals, media, industry associations and lifestyle brands.
We have some exciting news for the 2025 SXSW Music Festival! As the event draws closer, the third wave of showcase artists will be announced, taking over Austin from March 3th to 10th. With over 15 artists from around the world participating, this year promises to be a special one, unlike any other.
It was in this environment that PSYCHIC FEVER made their appearance. When they were announced as appearing at the event, the event's official website stated that they were "the electrifying J-Pop group PSYCHIC FEVER." They made their appearance with the expectations of SXSW on their shoulders.
At the "GREATER TEAM DAY STAGE" on the 13th, the seven members performed on an outdoor stage right next to the Austin Convention Center, one of the main venues for SXSW2025, which is particularly crowded with people. Due to the size of the stage, they only sang and did not dance, delivering a different stage from usual. Opening with "Just Like Dat feat. JP THE WAVY", they made eye contact with the audience during "What's Happenin'" and encouraged them to shout "What's happening?" Because they were so close to the audience, they could see their desire to "create the stage together". After "Paradise", "Temperature", and "Rocket", a powerful rap relay exploded on "Psyfe Cypher" and "Tokyo Spiral". After getting the crowd excited with "SH♡TGUN," "Highlights," and "SPICE," they then sang along with the audience for a phrase from "Just Like Dat feat. JP THE WAVY" to the accompaniment of Watanabe Ren's beatboxing, and then they launched straight into the song, creating a stage full of unity from start to finish.
Then came the "Friends From The East Showcase" on the 14th. As the opening video, which also introduced the members, started playing, the floor erupted in cheers and people started chanting the group's name. The members finally appeared on stage and started the live with "TALK TO ME NICE," which also opened the recent US tour "PSYCHIC FEVER FIRST US TOUR 2025." They showed off their sharp dance moves to the reverberating bass, delivering a powerful stage performance that was different from the previous day.
After uniting the venue with call and response, they moved on to "RICH & BAD." Their supple body movements, instantly changing formations, and the way they entertained the audience with smiles at times conveyed the enthusiasm the seven members have for the stage.
The crowd sang along to "What's Happenin'", which they had performed on the previous day's stage. They had the audience swaying to "Paradise", the lead song of their US tour, and during "Bitter Sweet", they moved from one end of the stage to the other, crouching down and waving their hands from side to side, enjoying communicating with the audience.
After performing "Temperature" while keeping the sweet mood created by "Bitter Sweet", Watanabe, Onatsushi and WEESA performed "Rocket (Take You Higher)", a song about long-distance love. The three moved freely around the stage while delivering their voices, and at one point Onatsu performed the moonwalk, exciting the audience. Next, JIMMY and WEESA delivered "Perfect", and the two's powerful voices and jersey club beats excited the audience. After adding Watanabe to the mix and connecting to "Highlights", they went into "Psyfe Cypher" by Ken, Nakanishi Ryoga, JIMMY and Handa Tatsuomi. The venue was filled with the passionate raps of each member and the loud cheers that responded to that heat.
When the seven members gathered on stage again, they performed "Love Fire." The seven members' well-coordinated performance raised the excitement in the venue even higher. When JIMMY called out "Everybody, clap!", the crowd erupted in applause, and the song changed to "BEE-PO." As the cheers continued throughout the show, the seven members looked at each other with lively smiles on their faces, and it was clear that they were enjoying the show to the fullest.
After the members said "One more song!" and "Last song!" one by one, Watanabe raised his left hand high and said, "Are you ready? Put your hands up!". He then excited the venue with his beatboxing, and just like yesterday, the members layered the phrases of "Just Like Dat feat. JP THE WAVY" over the beats he created. Next, the familiar intro started to play, and the last song on stage was, of course, "Just Like Dat feat. JP THE WAVY". Needless to say, this song, which was a hit on the charts around the world last year, was very exciting, and created a huge sing-along and other enthusiasm, and PSYCHIC FEVER ended their first stage at the "SXSW Music Festival".
Having just finished their US tour in February, PSYCHIC FEVER captivated the audience with a spectacular performance that seemed to update every performance on the tour. Compared to their tours, events like this one have a shorter performance time, but each performance shows ingenuity in the way the songs are connected and structured. It is because they pay attention to the smallest details in each performance that they are able to capture the hearts of fans all over the world.
Many SXSW attendees who saw this showcase just happened to be passing by had no idea about PSYCHIC FEVER. The ratio of men to women was about 3:7, and the age range was mostly in their 20s and 30s, so it was a performance in an unfamiliar environment that was different from their usual live performances. However, there was no sense of tension at all, and local music industry people who saw the live performance said things like, "They have the ability to naturally sense what the audience wants and immediately reflect it in their performance. I was impressed by their attitude of trying their best even in a poor environment," and "They don't just perform in a conventional way, but they have the ability to liven up the atmosphere while having fun, and if they continue to perform the way they are now, they will surely become a group that is loved by more people around the world in the future." PSYCHIC FEVER successfully completed a US tour in February of this year, and announced their transfer from LDH Records to 2K Projects, a music label within Warner Music Group. It is expected that their activities in the US will continue to accelerate, including the fan meeting tour announced in July. In such a situation, this SXSW appearance must have been very meaningful for the group. We will be keeping a close eye on PSYCHIC FEVER as they continue to evolve as a group.

PSYCHIC FEVER Profile
PSYCHIC FEVER is a seven-member boy group consisting of KOKORO, WEESA, TSURUGI, RYOGA, REN, JIMMY, and RYUSHIN, which debuted in July 7 as the seventh group from EXILE TRIBE, a unique group of Japanese artists affiliated with LDH JAPAN.
The seven members each have their own unique personalities based on their own roots, and the chemical reaction created by their performances of dance, vocals, rap, and beatboxing creates a frenzy, hence the name PSYCHIC FEVER (their fan name is ForEVER).
Aiming to be active globally, they will be based in Thailand for six months from their debut in 2022, performing at some of the largest music festivals in Asia in Japan, Thailand, Indonesia, Vietnam, Singapore, Malaysia, and other countries, and in 2024, they will expand their activities from Asia to Europe and the United States, including France, Spain, the UK, and the US. Starting in February 2025, they will hold their first tour of six US cities.
PSYCHIC FEVER's purpose is to "IGNITE OUR DREAMS", and they aim to be an entity that gives people the courage and strength to pursue their dreams through their performances, and ignites the desire to make those dreams come true.
In 2025, PSYCHIC FEVER's challenge will accelerate even further, starting with a US TOUR and then expanding from Asia to the world.
