Actor Suzuki Nobuyuki, who made his debut as a singer in 2022, will hold his first solo concert, "Suzuki Nobuyuki 3st Live "Action"" on March 28th.

In fact, his career began in 2010 with the audition for "VOCAL BATTLE AUDITION 2 ~For young people with dreams~". 14 years later, in November last year, he released the mini-album "Action" which includes six songs, including "Lifelong Hero", the theme song for the Tokai TV/Fuji TV Saturday drama "Bantman", in which he starred, "Futari Nori" (the ending theme for "Takahashi-kun the Bicycle Shop" (TV Tokyo)), which he also performed in 11's The First Take, and "Ambivalence", the insert song for the drama "Ninja ni Kekkon wa Muzukashii (Fuji TV)" which became a hot topic for his co-starring with Nanao.

Now, Suzuki Nobuyuki, who will be holding his first solo concert as an artist performing all the songs from the mini-album as well as covers, shared his enthusiasm for the concert.

-- Suzuki-san, your first live performance is finally coming up on March 3th. At the time of this interview, there is about a month until the performance, but how are preparations going?

Nobuyuki Suzuki (hereinafter, Suzuki): I'm making a set list and thinking about costumes, but to be honest, there are so many things I've never done before that I don't really understand the steps myself. So, although I guess I'm making progress, it's still all a bit vague, and even at this stage I'm still in a situation where I'm like, "I wonder how it's going to turn out."

--What were your thoughts when you found out you were going to perform a live show?

Suzuki: It was my first time performing live, so I wasn't sure what to expect and I was a bit anxious. However, I was also looking forward to seeing a different view from the play, and I hope that everyone who comes will be satisfied and have a good time.

-- Suzuki-san, you also held a fan meeting last year. It's both an opportunity to stand in front of your fans, but do you feel differently at a live concert and at a fan meeting?

Suzuki: That's right. Last time, we turned part of the restaurant run by our agency into a booth, but this time it's Zepp. I think there are many people who have been doing music all this time, so I really feel like I'm heading towards a full-fledged music career. Also, I spend my days asking myself how to convey myself not as a character but as a person/character, what is it about my character that people will love and like? I would be very happy if we could share some fun times together, even while we search for it.

--The title of the live show is "Action," the same as the mini-album, but what kind of live show do you think it will be?

Suzuki: In my case, I gave it the title "Action" because all the music is derived from the play, or rather, the work is the starting point. Each song has a feeling for the work, and I thought it would be easy to imagine a scene from the drama. However, after giving it a title, I felt that the music also plays a part as a character, and that it could be considered as a role. In that sense, I think it would be good if I could face it with the same feeling as I face the role. When I perform it at a live show, I don't know what kind of scene it will be, so I'm looking forward to it.

--I see. It looks like it's going to be a concert where you can see different expressions with each song.

Suzuki: That's right. I want to get everyone excited about the fun songs, and I want to prepare so that I can sing the more mellow parts well. I want to create a gentle atmosphere that we can all enjoy together.

-- Suzuki-san, you work both as an artist and an actor, but are there any areas where you feel are different between music and acting?

Suzuki: In acting, there is a script, what you say is decided, and your hair and costumes are all prepared, so the only preparation you have to do is memorize your lines. So when you wake up in the morning, even if you're sleepy, you can go to the shoot. On the other hand, on the day when I'm going to record, I'm thinking a lot about "I have to sing" and "I have to get up." As a result of running and thinking about having to get up, I can't calm down unless I wake up 8 hours before.

--Isn't it too early?

Suzuki: I get nervous the night before. When I listen to the demo, I start to wonder, "Is this good enough?", "Should I make it more original?", "What is my originality?", and once I start exploring, there's no end to it.

--Is the process of searching for that fun or difficult for you right now?

Suzuki: I'm grateful for the support I've received from so many people, and I'm excited about it. I've been given a lot of support, but I feel like I'm participating because I trust what's already been created.

- Do you have any plans for what kind of songs you would like to release in the future?

Suzuki: I admire songs that are loved and spread throughout the world, songs whose titles everyone knows. Also, I'm still searching for the direction that is in demand, so I'd like to try singing catchy, cute songs like those played on TikTok, which is popular now, and also sing rock-like songs, which are the complete opposite, and find out what my appeal is.
