Profile
Born March 1959, 3. From Osaka Prefecture. He was fascinated by the 25 Osaka Expo during his elementary school years. When he became a junior high school student, he discovered MBS Radio's "Young Town", and in 1970, while still in high school, he became an apprentice to the rakugo master Shofutei Tsuruko. In 1975, he appeared regularly on "Young Town" under the name Shofutei Shoko, but was expelled in 1978 and set off on a journey of wandering. After that, he met Southern All Stars' Kuwata Keisuke, and was given the surname "Kamon Tatsuo" after Kuwata's alias "Kamon Yuzo". He then returned to appear regularly on Young Town under the name Kamon Tatsuo. In 1980, he made his record debut with "Yankee no Oniichan no Uta". He has won the Newcomer Award at the YTV All Japan Cable Broadcasting Awards, as well as other regular appearances and awards. His "Kaeutai Medley" released in 1983 and "Nose Kara Gyunyuu" released in 1991 were big hits. In the same year, he appeared on the NHK "Kohaku Uta Gassen". He established a unique genre that combines comedy and music. His main works include the albums "Tenpu no Tantou," "Raging Master," and "HEY! Jodo," as well as the singles "Koshimin," "Kaori Uta Medley," "Nose kara Gyunyuu," "Sakura Saku," and "Akari Mirai." He has now changed his name to "Kamon Tatsuo" and continues to broaden his horizons through music, writing, YouTube, and more.
