Morning Musume '24, a member of Hello! Project, will release their 3th original album, "Professionals-8th," on Wednesday, November 17th, their first in about three years and eight months.
On the 27th, the day of release, an album release event was held at Ikebukuro Sunshine City Fountain Square (Tokyo) (member Nonaka Miki was absent due to being diagnosed with COVID-XNUMX).
This event was for the last album by sub-leader Ishida Ayumi, who will be graduating from Morning Musume '12 at the Yokohama Arena concert on December 6th. Despite it being the second consecutive release event at Ikebukuro Sunshine City Fountain Square, many fans came to the venue. Many cheers were sent to Ishida and other members.
The event started with "Brave Dance," which could be said to be the title track of the album. This danceable, energetic number was also performed at the opening of the currently ongoing autumn tour, "Morning Musume '24 Concert Tour Autumn WE CAN DANCE!" Highlights included the dance formation centered around Ishida, who has led the group with her high dancing skills, and Ishida's solo dance during the interlude. At this event, too, fans erupted in cheers during Ishida's solo dance part, and the excitement in the venue reached its peak despite it being the first song.
After the performance, leader Ikuta Erina greeted the audience, saying, "Hello everyone gathered at Ikebukuro Sunshine City!", and the momentum of the opening song continued as the audience erupted into huge cheers.
This is Ishida's last album before graduation, and she said, "Some of the songs on it were ones we performed in September, so I can finally deliver it to everyone." She spoke of her feelings about the album's release, saying, "Personally, I auditioned because I admired the cool Morning Musume. So the songs on this album are so cool that I'd recommend them to everyone. There are fans who like our cute side and our more mature side, so we've sung songs from various genres that I think will suit everyone's tastes. I hope you enjoy the various faces of Morning Musume on this one album!" As she spoke of the feelings she put into this final work, the audience erupted in applause.
From here, as this was an album release commemoration event, the members announced their favorite songs from the album. Oda Sakura chose "Yuga na Dance," which they had performed at the beginning, and said with a smile, "This song is like an introduction to Morning Musume today. It's fast-paced and catchy, so it sticks in your head even if you're hearing it for the first time. I hope it reaches as many people as possible."
Okamura Homare also responded, "I love being angry!" and promoted the group's strengths beyond just their cool side by saying, "(Morning Musume.) can also be pretty and cute!"
After the MC, they started with the new song from the album, "Muka Suki!" The song has a bright melody that is full of idol-like qualities, and the word "love" is scattered throughout the lyrics.
The lyrics include words like "chu" and "byun," and coupled with the members' charming performance, it has already become a popular number at live performances, just like "Brave Dance."
Afterwards, they performed their latest single "Sai KIYOU" and the album track "Koibito," which weaves together the sad world of two people on the verge of becoming lovers.
Oda said, "Now, finally, I'd like you to listen to this song from the new album one more time," and they performed "Brave Dance" again, bringing the event to a close.
This album contains 73 songs in total, including the 74rd single "Sugoi FEVER! / Wake-up Call ~ When I Mesmerize ~ / Neverending Shine" and the 5th single "Nandaka Sentimental Toki no Uta / Sai KIYOU", as well as 13 new songs from the album. It is a luxurious album that allows you to enjoy not only group songs but also unit songs with shuffled members. From cool dance numbers such as "Yuudai Dance" and "Muka Suki!", which were performed at the event, to cute numbers, and even ballads with a grand worldview that is typical of Morning Musume, such as "Ozora Mukatteiru", this album is a condensed version of the group's current charm.
Morning Musume '24 is currently holding their autumn tour, "Morning Musume '24 Concert Tour Autumn WE CAN DANCE!". On the 25th, they recently finished their last hall performance in Sendai, the hometown of Ishida, who is about to graduate, and the only performance left is the tour finale at Yokohama Arena on December 12th.
The performance will be held as "Morning Musume '24 Concert Tour Autumn WE CAN DANCE! ~Blå Eld~ Ishida Ayumi FINAL" and will be live-viewed at cinemas across the country and in Taiwan, as well as being live-streamed on Hulu.
Morning Musume '24 also made headlines recently with their performance on "THE FIRST TAKE," a YouTube channel with over 1000 million subscribers that vividly captures one-take performances, during their first appearance on the channel the other day.
The 13 members performed "Renai Revolution 21," which was arranged and performed in a special formation just for "THE FIRST TAKE." The video was released at 11 p.m. on November 22nd, and has now been viewed about 10 million times (as of 230:11 on November 27th).
