Actor Akari Takaishi attended the premiere screening of the film "A Hotel Worth Me" held at Shinjuku Piccadilly on the 20th.

Takaishi is a notable actor whose name has become known throughout Japan since it was announced on the 29th of last month that she will play the heroine of the NHK morning drama "Bakeke" to be broadcast in the second half of 2025.

Takaishi won the Best New Actress award at the 15th TAMA Movie Awards last year, and this year she has appeared in a number of notable productions, including the heroine in the drama "Crashing JK and Botched Teacher Lesson 2" (MBS/TBS Dramaism), the film "Newbie Reporter Trocco: If I Don't Do It, Who Will?" (released August 8th), and the anime film "Your Color" (released August 9th).

Most recently, she has appeared in the films "Baby Warukyuure Nice Days" (released September 9th) and "Smartphone Dropped, But It's the Final Chapter: Final Hacking Game" (released November 27st), and her acting has continued to grow even after she was chosen as the heroine of the morning drama.

This work is an entertainment story about the rise of the underdog in the literary world, and follows the story of Kayoko (Non), the most unfortunate new writer in literary history, who won a new writer's award but was unable to make a brilliant debut or get a chance to publish her novel due to harsh criticism from the veteran writer Higashijujo Munenori (Takito Kenichi), as she attempts to make a comeback in the literary world.

When Kayoko, played by Non, stays at the "Yamanoue Hotel" that she has always dreamed of, she finds out that Tojujo is staying on the floor above her. With the help of her senior from her university days, editor Enmichi, she interferes with Tojujo's writing, causing Fuminaga's manuscript to fail on the deadline. The comical confrontation between Kayoko and Tojujo is the highlight of this film.

In this film, Takaishi plays the role of Higashijujo Miwako, the beloved daughter of Higashijujo Munenori, played by Takito Kenichi.

When Takaishi took to the stage dressed in a red see-through dress with a gorgeous pattern, she smiled brightly and greeted the audience with a refreshing "I look forward to working with you!"

When asked if it was easy to bring out the character of Higashijujo Miwako, the character she played, in a short scene during the dialogue scene at the Higashijujo household, Takaishi reflected, "Because it was a short scene, I think I was able to act in a way that sharpened the expression of my eyes when I first appeared, and the angry look I showed towards my father in the middle of the conversation."

As the scene was one in which dialogue was flying around, he recalled the fulfilling filming, saying, "I have fond memories of the dialogue, and it was fun how everyone was so friendly and chatted with me during breaks."

Non, who played the heroine Aki in the 2013 NHK morning drama series "Amachan," is Takaishi's senior as a morning drama heroine, but this is the first time the two have co-starred.

Regarding his first co-starring with Non and Takito, who plays his father, he said, "They were people I'd always wanted to work with, so it really felt like a dream come true and it was a luxurious experience to be able to convey that to them directly."

In a segment where they shared stories of their own rise from the bottom, Takaishi wrote "From last place to center!!" on a flip board.

She mentioned the time when she was taking dance lessons in the past, saying, "There were a lot of people taking lessons, and the good ones would go to the front, but I was the worst so I was at the back. But I practiced hard and eventually I was called to the front center!" The audience erupted in applause when she said this.

Finally, he said to those who are looking forward to seeing the film, "I really like the line in this film, 'Anger turns into power,' and I really think that regret can become fuel, or motivation to work hard for tomorrow. In this film, anger and regret are turned into laughter, so I hope you will enjoy the film and go home having fun."

The stage greeting also featured leading actors Non, Tanaka Kei, Takito Kenichi, original author Yuzuki Asako, and director Tsutsumi Yukihiko, who excited the packed venue.

The film "A Hotel Worth It" will be released nationwide on Friday, December 12th.
