Hello! Project's Angerme will release their 35th single, "Hatsukoi, Hanabie/Yuyukan Gonna Be Alright!!" (double A-side) on November 11th (Wednesday). On the day of the release, the 13th, they held a release event (13 shows) for the new song at Ikebukuro Sunshine City Fountain Square (Tokyo). This event was the last performance of sub-leader Ayano Kawamura, who will be graduating from the group at the Nippon Budokan performance on November 2th, and many fans came to the venue. Many cheers were sent to Kawamura and other members.
The event started with their latest song, "Hatsukoi, Hanabie." The song is full of Japanese taste, using instruments such as the koto, and is a rare EDM minor-key dance song for ANGERME. The members showed off their delicate vocal tones and facial expressions, showing fans a new side of themselves from the very first song. It was also impressive to see the members smiling as they looked out over the atrium venue, which was filled not only to the basement floor where the stage was, but also to the third floor.
During the MC after the performance, leader Moe Kamikokuryo asked the fans, "Have you all gotten (the new song)? Are you ready to call out?", which elicited loud cheers from the venue. She continued, "I'm happy that we can hold a release event at Fountain Square on the day of the release of our new song. There are a lot of people here, so let's spread the word about ANGERME!"
After the MC, they started with a performance of another new song, "Yuyukan yan gonna be alright!!". The song is characterized by a danceable melody and positive lyrics that are typical of Angerme, and the happy worldview of the song filled the venue with a sense of euphoria. Perhaps keeping their word from the MC earlier, they showed a well-coordinated call and response with the fans despite it being the release date, and then they performed a series of upbeat numbers with titles that are typical of Angerme, such as "Gashinshodan" and "Daiki Bansei".
The excitement in the venue reached its peak, and with that momentum, the MC began. Kamikokuryo announced, "Today is the release date, so for those who couldn't make it to the event, we'd like to stream it live on TikTok!" and began the live stream, saying, "Fans all over the country (who can't make it to the venue) can watch it."
Kawamura said, "I have a request for everyone at the venue! With the intention of letting more people know about Angerme and our new song, I'm allowing you to take photos with your smartphones! Please post the photos you take on social media!", and the surprise announcement elicited cheers of joy from the venue. The photo shoot began, and Kamikokuryo smiled and told the fans, "Please take cute photos," while Kawamura declared, "I hope we can all get excited about Angerme and our new song together." After the photo shoot, they performed "Hatsukoi, Hanabie" again, and the release commemorative event came to an end. Finally, Ise Suzuran announced that Kawamura's graduation performance at the Budokan at the end of this month and the Blu-ray of the spring tour were also released today. Then, in preparation for the Nippon Budokan performance, she sent a powerful message to the fans, saying, "We're excited for Kawamura's last performance and the final tour!"
The release event is scheduled to be held tomorrow, November 11th, at LaLaport TOKYO-BAY (Chiba), and on the 14th at AEON MALL Makuhari New City (Chiba).
Also, about a month later, on December 1th, ANGERME will celebrate its 12th anniversary since changing its name from S/mileage. They are currently holding a tour to commemorate their 17th anniversary, "ANGERME 10th ANNIVERSARY TOUR 10 AUTUMN "ROOTS". As the tour title "ROOTS" suggests, the set list looks back on ANGERME's 10th anniversary, and this weekend on the 2024th they will perform at "Sendai Sun Plaza Hall" (Miyagi Prefecture), and on the 10th they will perform at Nippon Budokan, which will be the final performance of the tour. The Nippon Budokan performance will be Kawamura's graduation performance, "ANGERME 17th ANNIVERSARY TOUR 28 AUTUMN "ROOTS" Ayano Kawamura FINAL ☆KIRAKIRA", and will be broadcast live at movie theaters nationwide, as well as on CS TV Asahi Channel 10.
