Captivating the hearts of audiences! OCHA NORMA's first starring role in the stage play "Mirror Girl" gives a passionate performance! Kitahara Momo: "I hope you will love each and every character"

Hello! Project's (hereafter referred to as Hello! Project) OCHA NORMA's first lead role in the stage play "Theater Girls' Club Mirror Girl" opened on Friday, November 11th at the Kokumin Kyosai Coop Hall/Space Zero in Tokyo.

This article reports on the dress rehearsal that took place just before the premiere. (Sumire Tashiro, who is currently on hiatus due to medical treatment, was absent from all performances.)

"Mirror Girl" is a modern youth ensemble drama centered around Ayase Yurika (Nishizaki Misora), a young lady who grew up without any hardships, and Machida Mia (Kitahara Momo), who takes her place.

The Ayase family's servants, Utsugi Yuki (Yonemura Himera) and Sakura Reiko (Sudo Maasa), are panicked when Yurika decides not to go to university, so they offer Mia, who resembles Yurika, an extremely high-paying part-time job to take the university entrance exam as a "stand-in" for her and experience university life.

Watching over her from her hometown are her mother Tomoko (Mochizuki Mari), her sister Nao (Tsutsui Mio), and her childhood friend Takagi Hayato (Ishiguri Kanami). After moving to Tokyo, Mia meets three members of the Mass Media Research Club, also known as the "Masken" club, Kadokura Nagisa (Saito Madoka), Akiyama Yume (Kubota Nanami), and Sone Ai (Hiromoto Ruri), and club alumnus Miyamoto Taichi (Nakayama Natsutsukihime), and as such, she leads an eventful campus life as Yurika.

The play unfolds at a good pace, sometimes comical and sometimes serious. Led by Kitahara, who delicately expresses the fluctuating emotions of Mia, who has taken on the role of Yurika, the other members of the group display their unique expressiveness. The group showed a variety of different expressions in their first stage performance, including the unique and witty exchanges between Kubota and Hiromoto, who play the "Mas Research Club" members, and the dignified behavior of Ishiguri and Saito, who play the male roles. At the end, the entire cast sang the theme song "Mirror Girl" with a cheerful voice.

After 17 performances until the final performance on the 13th (Sunday), the group is expected to grow even more. There will be no performance on the 11th (Monday). There will be a ticket distribution event on the 9th (Saturday) and 10th (Sunday), and after-show talks and farewell parties will be held after the performances on the 10th (Sunday), 12th (Tuesday) to 15th (Friday) with various cast combinations.

It has also been decided that the concert will be streamed online. It will begin streaming on Saturday, November 11th, and will be available for purchase at the "HELLO! PROJECT STREAM ONLINE STORE" from 30pm on Monday, November 11th.

Comment from Momo Kitahara, who plays Mia

I had always wanted to try my hand at acting and had a dream of performing on stage at OCHA NORMA, so I was extremely happy when I heard that I had been cast in the play.

I will be playing the main character, Machida Mia, and I hope to understand Mia's feelings and become immersed in the character.

This time, we were rehearsing while doing a live tour of all 47 prefectures, so it was tough because we had to rehearse almost every day on weekdays, but the most important feeling was that it was fun to spend time creating the stage with everyone at OCHA NORMA. This is OCHA NORMA's memorable first stage. There is only one first, so we want to cherish it very much.
